Garcia-Morales’ career in education began as a school social worker, a role that greatly influenced his leadership style. He believes that students’ well-being is essential for their success and has prioritized mental health initiatives at the school.

Garcia-Morales has also impacted outside education through his entrepreneurial venture, Rebels & Scholars. Between 2014 and 2020, he co-founded this clothing brand to support social justice causes and empower students. The brand was mainly focused on providing scholarships for undocumented students pursuing higher education. Though the business was successful, he chose to step away to focus on his principal responsibilities and continue his education work.
 
His commitment to the community extends to volunteerism, as he has supported various local organizations, including El Centro de la Raza, YouthCare, and FareStart. His ongoing volunteer efforts demonstrate his dedication to social justice and community development. Garcia-Morales currently works with the Union Gospel Mission and the Washington State Department of Corrections, focusing on supporting mental health and community well-being.
